My new camera. . .is a tiny technical marvel from Canon. The G9:

Terse Specs:
12.1 Megapixels in Raw mode or JPG file format
uses high capacity SD memory cards.
makes pretty decent little AVI movies.
Nice bright, large LCD screen.

Yes, I already have a very nice, pro-level digital SLR (Nikon D2x) but with our planned trip to Hawaii in September I wanted to avoid the weight, bulk and security hassles of flying with a lot or camera gear.

Why . . .?

You might ask why I have decided to start a blog.
